BRDG at FMS!

BRDG leadership, students, and their peers participated in the 20 th anniversary of the Future of Memory and Storage (FMS) conference held in August in Santa Clara, CA, where Artificial Intelligence was the “hot” topic.

BRDG students enjoyed full access to the event and Sustain-a-Bin LLC, a student-led start-up made possible through BRDG’s LaunchPad program, presented on the Best of Show stage to detail the function of their invention, “Greenie Genie,” an A.I.-driven recyclable materials sorting machine.

“This is really impressive,” said Jeremy Werner, SVP and GM for Micron Technology data center business unit. “It’s great that you can give these students exposure to this caliber of industry executives, and with a timely and upbeat environmentally-conscious message for practical uses for A.I.”

The Sustain-a-Bin presentation was led by CTO Susan Zelidon and supported by Nathan Stephens, Leo Yeghiayan, and Utku Solmaz.

In addition to supporting Sustain-a-Bin, BRDG representatives met with several other students who took advantage of FMS access passes.

Solimar Kwok Feliciano, an Electrical Engineering student at Cal Poly, gave thanks for the opportunity and expressed how useful memory training was during the event’s tutorial sessions.

Alex Sogas, from Purdue, said that the exhibition hall was a great opportunity to begin his networking in this industry.

BRDG turns potential into power, and the engagement at FMS was a powerful step forward for the students who were able to attend.
