Jeffrey "JJ" Jones

JJ is a retired air defense radar systems engineer with a distinguished career in radar technology and systems integration. He authored the Performance-Based Specification for the Sentinel Radar System and was instrumental in designing power distribution and cooling systems for multiple interferometers.


JJ led the integration, testing, and final delivery of numerous complex systems and developed a comprehensive logistics system to support them. He implemented the Hughes Authoring  Language (HAL) and played a key role in the development, implementation, and integration of various operator and maintainer training devices.


His contributions also include writing specifications for safety, reliability/availability/maintainability (RAM), and facilities. As a Program Manager, he successfully led several radar-related initiatives. His groundbreaking work in passive radar earned him the “Excellence in Engineering Award.”


In retirement, JJ enjoys mentoring high school students in robotics. Passionate about empowering others, he proudly volunteers with BRDG to support community growth and development.
