Edward De La Torre, ED.D

Dr. Edward De La Torre is the Assistant Director of Operations at the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences for Chapman University, and has worked in Budget and Finance, Human Resources, and Leadership functions.


Dr. De La Torre is an instructor in higher education at the California State University Fullerton, and teaches courses in business and leadership including but not limited to Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, and Labor Relations. Dr. De La Torre received his Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) in Organizational Leadership from
the Chapman University System. He earned his MBA and BA in Psychology from the California State University, Fullerton. He has published and edited articles in peer-reviewed journals on interpersonal dynamics, economics, and other business fields. His research interests are eclectic, and currently investigating dynamics in health and wellness and in student success.


Outside of academia, Edward is an active workshop presenter and corporate trainer. He has consulted with local SBEs, non-profits, and companies such as Tyson to improve workforce operations and behaviors. “Personally, I am an avid gym-rat and fitness enthusiast. I am undoubtedly a work, eat, gym, sleep and repeat type person!”


To round up his physical, academic or cultural activities, Dr. De La Torre gives back to his
community. He is an active academic coach and mentor to students, particularly those who are first-generation attending college. “I appreciate the guidance that my parents afforded me in putting education first when formulating my profession, and I want to do the same with first-gen students who are navigating college and charting out their careers.”
